On one side a mother can be anxious because she is used to controlling and accomplishing, yet with a child there is so much she cannot control. On the other side, you can have a mother who is not so anxious about controlling but rather she is anxious about everything that may go wrong. One is worried about the “I need to do…” and the other is worried about the “what if…”. Or perhaps you can see both of those within your mothering.
Yet God reaches into the chaos and gently redirects our gaze. Scripture confronts the anxiety, the stress, the inadequacy, and the expectations with the work of God. The life of a mother is a beautiful thing yet it can feel overwhelming at moments. I want to take us into the Word of God to find joy, hope, comfort, and guidance.
